Action 4 mm – 3.4mm Low E to High E CITES Not Required – woods used are not regulated – please read provided link to the left 2019 Kenny Hill Signature #4173 Cedar DT EIRW Equal Tempered She is another truly fabulous example of Kenny’s work. This one, #4173, has an equal tempered fretboard. It looks weird at first, but it plays like any other guitar, so really, no worries. Easy on the hands, she is explosive in her affect. The Rosewoods are gorgeous. The guitar itself is so much fun, energetic, resonant against your body and so very musical. I found her buttery, soft in the trebles, yet brilliant with force, while blooming in the basses and that desirable growl in the mids. I seriously enjoyed the recording session for this guitar. I found her fairly bright for a Cedar Double Top. The master Spruce board on the underside is contributing to that beautiful affect. The guitar is a Double Top with Lattice Bracing, all natural woods used in the bracing, using Nomex in the top. Slightly radiused fret board (which is also elevated) makes her a breeze to play. She is in excellent condition with difficult to see “honest play wear”. The back and sides seem to be unblemished. Kenny himself went through this guitar, checking it thoroughly for us. It is a phenomenal example of Kenny’s work. Comments: See any of the other Kenny Hill Signature classical guitars that I have available. These classical guitars are silky smooth, powerful in the basses, piercing in the mids and singing in the trebles. This is one of Kenny’s latest innovations, where the Double Top, which he pretty much perfected is now combined with wood lattice bracing, achieving even more volume, while sacrificing nothing in terms of color and tonal palette. These are some of my very favorite guitars, of which I own 2 for my personal performance needs. Simply, there is very little left to be desired in a world class guitar. The new Signatures from Kenny are surpassing themselves. Something is slightly different here with this particular guitar and in a very good way! Kenny brought it to my attention and I have to wholeheartedly agree. She is louder, sweeter, more pure in tone, if possible. She seriously cuts through the air. Awesome guitar.
