Fairly prolific, nicely priced, the guitars and this guitar are an excellent value. Unique in the build, I discuss this more below. The build is reminscent of the Contreras Double Tapa school of thought, with Double Sides, using Indian Rosewood (another unique choice) for extra stiffness imparting energy to the top, helping to activate the sound board. Coupled with a Fleta 9 fan bracing system and plantilla, we have a unique and rare classical guitar, of which there are only 2 in the world. Of course, the wood selection is phenomenal, with a Master Grade Red Western Cedar top, along with a book matched Cocobolo Back/Sides that can only be seen as the eye-candy we all adore. Additionally, the rosette and tieblock are stunning as well as unique, as they will not be found in another Lagunar guitar. The larger scale should not be seen as intimidating, as the action is concert-worthy low at 4mm and 3mm, low E to high E at the 12th fret, unfretted. A slight radius of the neck allows for simpler and easy play all the way up the fretboard. What a sublime singing voice she has to go along with her unquestionable prettiness. Almost a bellowing bass response balanced with a gutty growling mid voice range and singing trebles that are quite clear. This is an excellent guitar. The guitar has been owned by two people, the first of which was a little tough on the soundboard, evidencing play wear, all honest, throughout the top, behind the bridge, etc (I will take detail photos of the top). Nail marks, scratches, etc but nothing of significance. The guitar’s voice more than makes up for any and all of this. It is not terrible in any way. Just me fully disclosing things, as usual. As I have said in the past, the microphone has no eyes. Her sound and play are magnificent. _____________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – Coming Soon – an effortless musicality to this sweet guitar. A wonderful, almost cavernous affect, with blooming basses, cello-like trebles and a sing to the trebles that is enviable. Coupled with easy play, it is simply a guitar one can truly wrapp their heads around. Love this guitar! Photos are complete, just have to edit and upload.
