Action 3.9mm to 3.3mm Low E to High E unfretted at 12th fret CITES Ineligible (it is, but the paperwork is ridiculous due to US Management Office and their incompetence) but not recommended due to transport issues in general 1964 Ignacio Fleta #326 Spruce Brazilian RW Comments Another magnificent example of work by the old masters. Ignacio Fleta pretty much speaks for himself. Not much I can add. I can say that not all Fleta’s are created equally. Regardless he is among the best of them, and this guitar shows us why. I don’t believe it necessary to go on and on about the quality of sound and play emanating from this guitar. I have been fortunate to own quite a few of Fleta’s guitars, and have seen quite a few more. They are all mostly exemplary. This one is a sweet little child. When it comes to musicality, expression, nuance, voice and sing, I always think of Julian Bream. Would he love this guitar? The answer is definitively YES! Anyone that knows me, how I talk, clear and direct, knows I blow no sunshine. Truth is truth, fact is fact. This guitar is a Bream guitar, imo. Clearly an investment as well as a player’s guitar. She has an exquisite voice, capable of most anything you might desire. Setup is sort of moderate, at 3,9mm low E 12th fret, but the string break is nice, the power is evident, and it’s not overly high in my opinion. She’s playing very nicely, almost too easily, which is kind of rare with a Fleta. The CSA is straight grained, as you would expect, with a beautiful reddish coloring throughout, with most attractive figuring. It is the literal definition of “eye candy”. The top is superb, bear clawed, translucent in appearance. Almost all of the old masters had good eyes and ears for the best of tonewoods. Issues with the guitar, outside of normal and honest play wear, the usual dings here and there….1 stable fissure, treble side, underneath the fretboard on the top. Another stable one on the back. I will photograph. I have inspected, probed, pushed, etc. There is no movement at all. The guitar had 1 owner, well known from NYC, then 1 other who bought it from the original owner. Pretty extraordinary overall and quite frankly, 3 years younger than me and in much better shape than me!? LMAO. This is a superb guitar! Oh, and the case. It is the original case as sent by Fleta to the NYC owner. It has a case cover as well. I am happy to send the case along with the sale of the guitar, as a matter of provenance, but it will come in a high end CrossRock or BAM XL2000 case. Please make note of this.
