So much fun, energetic, resonant against your body and so very musical. The BearClaw Spruce is magnificent, translucent in the light. The play is simple, as it was professionally lowered to 3.5mm on the low E. Powerful and expressive. Everything else is simply superb. Kenny has semi-retired, where he builds his way, what he wishes, at his own speed, out of his workshop at home, having closed up the Ben Lomond location. When I say it will be more and more difficult to find any of these guitar in new just built condition, well, yes, it will be that difficult. Comments: See any of the other Kenny Hill Signature classical guitars that I have available. These classical guitars are silky smooth, powerful in the basses, piercing in the mids and singing in the trebles. This is one of Kenny’s latest innovations, where the Double Top, which he pretty much perfected is now combined with wood lattice bracing, achieving even more volume, while sacrificing nothing in terms of color and tonal palette. These are some of my very favorite guitars, of which I own 2 for my personal performance needs. Simply, there is very little left to be desired in a world class guitar. The new Signatures from Kenny are surpassing themselves. Something is slightly different here with this particular guitar and in a very good way! Kenny brought it to my attention and I have to wholeheartedly agree. She is louder, sweeter, more pure in tone, if possible. She seriously cuts through the air. Awesome guitar. Note that this is a 640mm Scale Length Guitar, more suitable to those with less than an 9″ span between outstretched pinky and thumb. Easier to play, even for myself. I normally use 660mm scale guitars, but these are seriously comfortable. Measuring the body, I was surprised to find that the measurements all equal the 650mm scale Signature. The only difference being the 640mm scale length of the classical guitar. If you’re sitting at an 8″ to 9″ span this guitar is going to fit you very nicely. Certainly, sound, performance, volume and the musical nature of the guitar are all there and then some. Really, these guitars are incredible, and the 640mm scale even has some extra little punch in her. Please note that I use two of Kenny’s Signatures, a Spruce and a Cedar for my own performance needs. Easy action adjustment via the 5/32″ truss rod used in all Hill Guitars. Very smart. Believe me, this guitar just vibrates against your body, cutting the air with pure sound and music.
